His ancestors were Suryavanshi Rajputs, who descent from Lord Sri Rama. His ancestors Sisodias from Mewar were the oldest ruling family in the world. Several generations ago his great ancestor Maharana Pratap Singh ruled for about 57 years had 11 wives. Amar Singh eldest son born to his first wife Maharani Ajabde who conditionally accepted Jahangir ruler-ship and lay down arms that resulted into many families leaving Rajasthan. His great grandparents migrated to Deccan in 16th century at the invitation of Sultan Quli Qutb-ul-Mulk.
He graduated in Bachelor of Sciences from Andhra University in 1964. His specialization is Business Administration, Behavioral Psychotherapy and Textiles.
